One of the most common fish caught in our lakes is pike. A frequent fisherman likes to taste the fish he catches, but simply fried fish in a pan quickly gets boring. In order to discover the taste of fish again, I will share with you my favorite pike recipes recipes. I say right away that these are not my pike recipes and you will definitely find them somewhere else on the Internet. But for me these recipes liked the most.
Baked pike in the oven
You will need
- Pike (The tastiest from 1kg-1.5kg weight)
- A few cubes/slices of butter
- Lemon pepper (Lidl's lemon spices for fish are the tastiest for me)
- 3-4 cloves of garlic
- 2-3 leaves of sage
- Salts
- Ground black pepper
- A few sprigs of thyme and oregano
Making
First of all, the fish needs to be properly processed - to shave off the scales and remove the entrails. After that, wash the fish thoroughly. On the sides of the washed pike, cut the skin in several places - from the front to the tail. Then rub the inside of the fish with spices - salt, pepper and lemon pepper. Also put herbs and pieces of butter and crushed garlic cloves inside. Place the pike in a baking dish and after taking the spices, sprinkle them on the outside of the fish. After everything is done, the fish is ready for frying. Heat the oven to 150 degrees and after putting the pike in the baking tray, bake it in the oven for about an hour. During cooking, from time to time, sprinkle the fish with the juices that have escaped. Sprinkle the baked pike with lemon juice and serve with your favorite side dish. Delicious!

The meatballs are very tender and juicy. Meatballs perfectly complements any side dish, stewed vegetables or vegetable salad.
Fried pike on coals
You will need
- Fresh fish must be descaled, gutted and thoroughly washed inside and out.
- Frozen fish should be thawed naturally, under no circumstances put the fish in warm or hot water, as it will lose its flavor. The pike can be covered with boiling water only for a short time (to make it easier to clean the scales).
- A large individual is better cut into steaks 5-6 cm thick, a small one can be cooked whole or cut lengthwise into two parts.
- After cutting the fish, you can start marinating. Although it is not necessary - the fish has a great taste without spices.
- The choice of wood is very important. Apple or pear firewood is best suited.
Making
- Place the prepared pieces of fish in foil
- Fold the foil in half and wrap the pike in it.
- You can add a couple of slices of lemon.
- Place the foil-wrapped fish on the grill. Small pieces will be ready in 15-20 minutes.
So that the fish does not dry out during cooking, you can spread it with sour cream, butter, yogurt or mayonnaise. Pike recipes has a very long history and can be made in many different ways.
