General conditions

These regulations, approved by the fishing club Šamanas, the organizer of the competition, describe the procedure for the catfishing competition ŠaManas 2023, which will take place on June 30-July 2, 2023.
Registration for the competition is only in advance. You can register by e-mail - [email protected]. It is necessary to indicate the name of the crew, the names and surnames of the participating persons, and the dates of birth. After sending the letter, you will receive a confirmation and an explanation of how and where to transfer the entry fee.
Starting crew fee - 80€
The competition organizer reserves the right to change the rules and regulations at any time.

Contestants

Teams compete. 1 or 2 participants in the crew.
All competition participants must have valid fishing permits.
Persons under the age of 18 may participate in the competition with the written consent of their parents or guardians, and must be accompanied by a person at least 18 years of age during all competitions.

Competition rules

Competition rules are governed by amateur fishing rules with additional restrictions.
Basic rules:
• Competitions are conducted on a Catch/Release basis only
• Fishing methods:
Active fishing - vertical fishing with a hook, vertical fishing, spinning, trolling.
Passive fishing - stationary fishing, during which you can fish either from the shore or from a boat that is anchored.
• Active and passive fishing at the same time is strictly prohibited
• All crews have the right to choose fishing methods and change them during the competition
• Active fishing is allowed during all competitions
• During active fishing, one person is allowed to use only one fishing gear
• Lure fishing is only allowed during daylight hours from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• During active fishing, the minimum distance between boats is 50m.
• Passive fishing is allowed during all competitions
• During stationary fishing, it is allowed to tighten the systems no further than 200m from the campsite. It is forbidden to cross the river with lines.
• All cast/tensioned systems must be marked with floats or buoys so that they are visible and not in the way of other anglers
• When fishing stationary, one person is allowed to use no more than 2 fishing gears
• It is only allowed to enter the water up to the waist
• Persons who do not follow the rules may be disqualified

Measuring fish and recording results

The qualifying fish for the competition is from 75 cm.
All fish caught must be reported to the judges immediately by phone. Judges' contacts will be announced before the competition.
The fish must be kept safely in the water until the judge arrives.
At night, the fish caught by the stationary method must be kept safely in the water until the morning, until the arrival of the judge.
Fish is measured only on a special measuring mat.
Scoring system:
- 100 points are awarded for a qualifying catfish
– For each additional centimeter up to 99cm - 1 point
– For each additional centimeter between 100-149cm - 10 points
– For each additional centimeter between 150-199cm - 20 points
- 100 points for each additional centimeter above 200cm
The pull of each fish caught must be recorded with a mobile phone camera, video camera, photo camera or other video recording device.
The first three crews with the most points will be awarded. If the number of points between the participants is the same, the crew that caught the bigger catfish will win.
Special prize for the biggest catfish caught in the competition.

Final Provisions

During the competition:
- The use of alcohol or other psychotropic substances is prohibited
- Do not harm any property or nature
- Dispose of all garbage/waste ONLY in the place designated by the organizers
Competition participants agree to the condition that the photo and/or video material taken during the competition will be used on the Internet, on television or radio for advertising or other purposes.
Competitors who do not follow the rules may be disqualified without refund of entry fee.
