Winter. The winter of 2019-2020 is one of the warmest. In my modest 30 years, I don't remember a single winter without ice. Ice even on a super puddle. On the eighth day of February, the forecast is +4 degrees. You need to go fishing. There are two options. Trout or feeder. I hesitated for a long time whether it was worth trying a feeder in winter. As we know, fish are very active in winter. But when I was too lazy to walk a lot, I decided to be a feeder.
Preparation
After searching the Internet for information about winter fishing, I began to prepare. I bought a feed of a darker fraction. I mixed it from the evening in the cellar to swell. From live baits, I bought pinks, mosquito larvae, wild ones. I chose a place to hide from the wind. And early in the morning, to catch the glow, I moved towards the water body.
Feeder fishing
As always, the forecasters were wrong with the weather. The promised +4 degrees didn't even smell. The night is minus. The morning is closer to zero. Shallower and narrower bays are covered with thin ice. The fishing options have further decreased. After going around the bay I discovered a beautiful place. After hiding from the wind and finding an unfrozen area of water, I started fishing.
First hour of fishing. I change the bait, hooks, mats, boar. More, less - zero reaction.
Second hour of fishing. I start making a mix. I get a vague rattling sound after putting on the eyeball and one pin, but then it's quiet again. Recast with the same composition. It's quiet. Another transfer. Silence continues. It's getting close to lunch time. It's already 11 o'clock on the clock. The weather is not getting warmer. Since I don't have suitable winter boots for sedentary fishing, my feet are getting cold after a while. I decided not to torture myself and pack things. During the half hour I was loading things, there were no squeaks.
And at this sad moment I left.
This fishing has planted the worm deep inside which begs back to the lake with the feeder. But the next time will be when the weather gets warmer and it will be +10 for at least a week.
