2025 Lithuanian Shore Fishing Championship

1. Amber Flounder 2025 General Provisions

1.1 The aim of the competition is to popularize sport fishing at sea from the shore, to develop communication and cooperation among sport fishing enthusiasts, to identify the strongest athletes in this type of fishing,
To strengthen the position of the Lithuanian national team in international competitions, and to share knowledge and innovations about sport fishing. To pursue goals that are beneficial to society, namely to promote a healthy lifestyle and physical activity. To strive for sport fishing to be an example of fish resource conservation, environmental education and dissemination of information.
1.2 The Lithuanian Sport Fishing Championship is a public event, a high-level sports competition that meets the requirements of the Law on Sports of the Republic of Lithuania and the resolutions and competition rules of the Lithuanian Sport Fishing Federation (hereinafter referred to as the LSŽF): https://www.sportinezukle.lt/teisine-informacija/
1.3 The organizer of the Lithuanian Coastal Sea Sport Fishing Championship is the fishing club "Žvejo tribuna".
1.4 All adults and minors over the age of 16 (with an identity document) can participate in the championship, provided that one of their parents or guardians participates together.
1.5 The organizers are responsible for selecting and announcing the starting location of the competition, collecting and administering the entry fee, registering tournament participants, announcing the stage agenda, monitoring compliance with order and safety requirements during the competition, adhering to the competition rules, measuring/weighing catches and recording and announcing results, preparing and presenting awards and prizes, and announcing results.
1.6 The organizers appoint a team of judges to review complaints and appeals from participants. The judges may impose sanctions on violators of the MJT or competition rules.
1.7 The Championship is held in individual classification and consists of 2 stages, 2 rounds each:
Stage I – “Amber Flounder 2025”, Juodkrantė, LT. Will take place on May 31st.
Stage II – “Neringa Cup 2025”, Nida, LT. Will take place on September 27th.

3. Amber Flounder 2025 Competition schedule (two rounds of 4 hours each):

Saturday, May 31
Round 1
7:30 a.m. – registration and drawing of lots with sectors;
8:00 a.m. – entrance to the sectors, preparation for the competition;
9:00 a.m. – Start of the first round of competition (signal rocket);
1:00 p.m. – Finish of round 1 (signal rocket);
1:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. – measuring catches;
13.30-15.00 break, change of sectors, preparation for the 2nd round of the competition
Round 2
3:00 p.m. – start of the 2nd round of competition (signal rocket);
19:00 – Finish of the 2nd round of the competition (signal rocket);
19:00-19:30 – measuring catches;
8:30 p.m. – Awarding of the winners of the "Amber Flounder 2025" competition, announcement of the winners of the 1st stage of the Lithuanian Sea Fishing from the Shore 2025 Championship.
3.1 The competition organizers reserve the right to change the competition agenda, informing the participants in advance.

4. Participant entry fee

4.1 60 Eur – Lithuanian Sea Fishing from the Shore Competition (without credit for the Lithuanian Championship);
4.2 Those wishing to qualify for the Lithuanian Championship must have a high-level sports fishing athlete license. The license price is 30 EUR per year. It must be paid before the start of the first stage of the competition. (Valid for both stages and when participating in any LT fishing competition championship);

4.3 The entry fee and license fee can also be paid upon arrival at the draw, but you must register in advance.
4.4 Registration is required in advance, in order for the organizers to prepare the fishing sectors more quickly, by sending an SMS to +37069871661, or by filling out the form online. http://zvejotribuna.lt/registracija/, by e-mail: [email protected] or on the fb account "Žvejo tribuna". It is necessary to indicate your name, surname, city, phone number, e-mail. Registration is confirmed only after receiving the payment.

5. Amber Flounder 2025 Fishing rules:

5.1 The competition is held in individual classification.
5.2 The allowed number of fishing rods is 1 piece.
5.3 The permitted number of hooks on one fishing rod is no more than 3 pieces.
5.4 The number and type of decorative elements on hooks and leashes is not limited.
5.5 The number of spare fishing rods is not limited, but they may not have a system attached to their main line. Only a swivel or clip for attaching the system may be tied.
5.6 Fishing is only allowed in sectors drawn by lot and only within the boundaries of one's own sector, which is approximately 30 m wide. After the first round, after weighing/measuring the fish, the participants change sectors as follows: A with B and B with A (1A with 1B, 2A with 2B, 3A with 3B, etc.). In the event of a larger number of participants, the organizers may create additional zones C and D with sectors in them. Participants are informed about this before the draw. In such a case, the participants change sectors as follows: A with C and B with D.
5.7 The fish caught shall be measured during and after the competition, with the participation of the fisherman and the signing of the protocols.
5.8 All fish caught and submitted for measurement by the participant in accordance with the MŽT are included in the result. One point is awarded for each centimeter of fish 20cm and longer. One technical point is awarded for fish caught smaller than 20cm.
5.9 The competition is held on a catch-and-release basis. Fish must be presented to the judges for measurement alive. The fish is presented for measurement unhooked. The fish is unhooked in the presence of the judge and with his permission. After the measurement and signing of the protocol, the fish is released. If the fish has swallowed the hook deeply, it is prohibited to injure the fish by trying to unhook it with a hook remover. If the fish has swallowed the hook deeply, the line is cut right next to the fish's mouth and the fish is released with the hook after measurement. If the fish dies, such a fish is collected by the judges; it is strictly forbidden to throw a dead fish back into the water. The participant of the competition must have a container with water to keep the live fish until measurement.
5.10 Fish caught outside of the competition (after the finish signal of each round) are not counted.
5.11 A participant is allowed to finish the competition before the finish signal sounds, but the participant must inform the judge about this and leave his sector only after the fish have been measured.
5.12 The winner is determined by the sum of points collected. If the sum of points is equal, the winner is determined by the greater number of fish units.
5.13 Lithuanian champions and prize-winners are announced publicly no more than 30 days after the last stage of the competition. The organizer of the Lithuanian Championship competition is responsible.
Points are awarded based on the places taken in each round in zones A and B. Taking 1st place in zone A in round I, 1 point is awarded, and 1 point is also awarded for 1st place in zone B; 2 points are awarded for 2nd place in zone A, and 2 points are also awarded for 2nd place in zone B, etc. In round II, points are awarded in the same way as in round I. The same point calculation would apply in zones C and D. The points from the rounds are added up. The lower the sum of the points received, the higher the place.
5.14 Jumping into the water is strictly prohibited.
5.15 The competition is held in accordance with the current Lithuanian amateur fishing rules.
5.16 The winner and prize-winners are awarded with prizes, diplomas, and cups from sponsors.

6. Formation of the national team for the discipline of shore angling

6.1 The team that will represent the Republic of Lithuania in international competitions is selected based on the following principles:
6.1.1 In the individual standings, the 5 strongest athletes of the Lithuanian Sea Fishing Championship from the Shore, who participated in all rounds of the championship that year, are included in the national team, according to the results of the current season that has ended.
6.1.2 If an athlete from the top five withdraws or is unable to represent the team for other reasons, the next ranked athlete will be included in the team.
6.2 The captain or captains and the manager of the team are appointed by the fishing club "Žvejo tribuna", the organizer of Lithuanian sea fishing from the shore.
6.3 An athlete who is included in the top five of the national team and has expressed a desire to represent Lithuania in international competitions, but who refuses to participate in international competitions less than 3 months before the competition without a valid reason, cannot apply for the national team for 2 years.

7. Final provisions

7.1 Competitors are responsible for their own safety during the competition.
7.2 A competitor is warned or disqualified if:
7.2.1 fished or had fishing gear that did not comply with the competition regulations;
7.2.2 had fish caught outside the competition or took them from outsiders during the competition;
7.2.3 did not obey the instructions of the competition judge, violated public order;
7.2.4 violated other provisions of this competition.
7.3 The entry fee will not be refunded to participants disqualified for violations. A disqualified participant loses the right to all competition prizes.
7.4 All disputes arising shall be considered by the panel of judges.
7.5 Participants must have a valid fishing permit in the Baltic Sea.
7.6 By paying the entry fee, the participants of the competition confirm that they agree to all the regulations and rules of the Lithuanian Championship. All participants of the competition agree that the photos and footage taken during the competition may be used in the media or for advertising purposes at the discretion of the organizers.
7.7 In the event of extreme weather or other conditions, unforeseen events, etc., the judges have the right to end the competition earlier than provided for in the rules, or to cancel one or another round altogether.

8. Lithuanian Championship points/places calculation procedure:

Only those persons who have a 2025 high sportsmanship license participate in the LT championship standings.
Points are distributed according to the place occupied in the round as follows:
1. 1 point is awarded for 1st place in a round, 2 points for 2nd place, 3 points for 3rd place, etc.
2. Round points are added up. The fewer points, the higher the position.
3. The winners of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places of the LT Championship are those who have collected the fewest points during both stages.
4. A participant who does not participate in any of the stages (in Juodkrantė or Nida) automatically receives 100 penalty points.
5. If the participants score the same number of points, the participant whose largest fish weighed more in round 2 wins.
These fishing rules have been prepared taking into account the rules governing the World Shore Fishing Championship.
