Competition regulations

1. REGISTRATION AND ENTRY FEE.


1.1. The competition is organized by Snieguolė Baublytė, UAB "Arvydai" at the 16th pond.
1.2. The competition is held in a team classification of 2 people.
1.3. All pre-registered adults or minors from the age of 16, accompanied by a parent/guardian, can participate in the competition.
1.4. Registration is carried out by public invitation on Facebook, Instagram social networking platforms.
1.5. Starting fee for the team – 120eur
1.6. By paying the competition entry fee, participants agree to the regulations and rules of the competition and ponds, and also assume full responsibility for health problems, injuries or death. Also agrees that the participant's name and surname, as well as visual material taken during the competition, may be published on social media. in networks.


2. Mermaid Cup COMPETITION FORMAT.


Competition date and location:

2025. May 9 - May 11 - UAB "Arvydai" 16 pond.

Competition schedule:

2025 May 9th 7:30 – 8:30 – registration;
9:00 a.m. - opening of the competition, drawing of lots, entrance to the sectors;
12:00 - start of the competition.
2025. May 11. 12:00 – end of the competition.
15:00 – closing of the competition, announcement of results, awards.


BAITS, LURES, CATCHING METHOD.

Before the start and during the competition, participants may check and explore the bottom within their sector using a scanning weight or marker. The use of sonar is prohibited.
3.1.
Baiting can begin immediately after the start. Baiting can be done with all methods that are allowed in feeder and carp fishing competitions.
3.2.
Baits and lures – baiting can be done with both natural bait (fly larvae, corn) and feeding boilies, etc. The bait used is a BOILER.
3.3.
Fishing is possible with all types of feeders and carp systems - with one hook.
3.4.
A team can fish with 4 fishing rods at a time.
3.5.
Participants in the competition must have a mat/trough, fishing tackle, and fish storage bags.


FISH, FISH KEEPING AND WEIGHING

All caught carp fish weighing 1kg or more are included.
4.1.
Fish must be stored in separate bags designed for storing fish.
4.2.
If the fish was caught before the end of the competition and the judges or the team fishing nearby were notified of the fish being caught and the fish was pulled out after the end of the competition, the fish is counted as a catch.
4.3.
After the competition, the fish may only be lifted after the judges have arrived. The fish must be placed on a mat/trough after being pulled out of the water. Each participant is responsible for ensuring that the fish is alive and that it is damaged as little as possible.
4.4.
4.5. All fish caught after weighing shall be released back.


PENALTIES


5.
Public consumption of alcohol during, before or after the competition is PROHIBITED.
5.1.
It is FORBIDDEN to make noise or otherwise disturb other participants during the competition.
5.2.
5.3. For gross violations of the rules, a participant may be removed from the competition by the decision of the judges.


Mermaid Cup SCORING AND PLACEMENT PROCEDURE

6.1. Participants compete in sectors. The goal of each team is to catch as much fish as possible. Participants receive penalty points based on the weight of the fish caught in each sector.
6.2. The places occupied by the participants are determined by the weight of the fish caught. The team with the lowest number of penalty points and the highest weight of the fish caught takes first place.
6.3. Penalty points are awarded in the following manner: the corresponding number of penalty points is awarded for the respective place (1st place – 1 penalty point, 2nd place – 2 penalty points, etc.)
6.4. When the weight of the fish caught by the participants is the same, the places are added up and divided by the number of teams. (For example, teams share 5th and 6th places, so (5+6):2 = 5.5 points for each team.

7.
7.1. Participants who take 1st - 3rd place and catch the biggest fish of the competition (BIG FISH) will be awarded with a cash prize, cups and gifts from sponsors.
7.2. Medals are awarded in additional nominations: “Ambassadors of Good Mood”, “Iron Patience”, “Best Photo Moment of the Competition”, “Intellectual Fisherman”.


ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS


8.
8.1. The competition organizers reserve the right to resolve disputes and, if necessary, change the competition regulations by mutual agreement.
8.2. Judges have the right to enter the sectors without permission and at any time check the participants' inventory, used systems, hooks, baits, etc.
