- Catfish fillet – 500 g
- Wheat flour (highest grade) - 1/4 cup
- Corn flour - 1/4 cup
- White ground pepper - 1/4 tsp. sh.
- Ground black pepper - 1/4 tsp. sh.
- Dried thyme - 1/2 tbsp. sh.
- Salt - 1/2 tbsp. sh.
- Dried basil - 1 a. sh.
- Vegetable oil – 5 tbsp.
- Cherry tomatoes - 100 g
- Parsley - 3 sprigs
How to make catfish fillet with basil and thyme
- Take the fillet, wash it well and cut it into pieces of about 5 cm.
- Pour sifted wheat and corn flour into a plastic bag or sealed box, add basil, thyme, white and black pepper and salt. Seal the container and shake vigorously a few times to mix the ingredients well.
- Add the catfish fillet pieces to the mixture, reseal the bag or box, and shake to evenly coat the fish with the spice mixture.
- Add vegetable oil to the heated pan and spread it evenly over the entire surface. On medium heat fry the fillet pieces on both sides until golden (6-8 minutes). During production, check the tenderness of the fillet with a fork - it should pierce easily.
- Place the fillet pieces on a plate, garnish with cherry tomato halves and fresh parsley. This dish goes well with rice, salad or grilled vegetables.

How to prepare a catfish fillet under a soft layer of potatoes and cheese
- Cut the fillet into pieces. Add salt and spices to the fish, add a bay leaf, sprinkle with lemon juice and vegetable oil. Mix well and leave to marinate for 15 minutes.
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin slices. Sprinkle salt and spices on the potatoes. Spread half of the potato layer evenly on the bottom of a baking dish greased with vegetable oil.
- Place the marinated fillet on top of the potato layer.
- Place the onion cut into half rings on top of the fish.
- Spread the finely grated carrot evenly over the onion.
- Place the remaining potatoes on top of the carrots.
- Spread the potato layer evenly with mayonnaise. Put the baking form in an oven heated to 180 °C and bake for about 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, add a little water or broth to the baking dish to make the dish even juicier.
- Sprinkle the dish with grated hard cheese and bake for another 10-15 minutes until a golden crust forms.
- Remove the dish from the oven, let it cool slightly and serve
