The bear - radishes (Lotidae) a fish of the family living in fresh water. According to scientists, this fish is several million years old. It is a cold-loving fish, because it is active only in winter, when the water temperature drops below +12° C. Vegėlė is a fish that lived in the Ice Age. This is evidenced by her habits, and most importantly, her appearance. Since the last ice age was about 15 thousand years ago, this species is older than human history. At least the one we know from written sources.

What does Vegėlė look like?

The wagtail has a long but low body, rounded at the front and slightly compressed at the back. The head is slightly flattened and rather long, and the eyes are very small. The mouth is large, and the lower jaw is slightly shorter than the upper. Small, bristle-shaped teeth are visible in the mouth. There is a single antenna on the chin, which is about one-fifth the length of the head. There is one pair of whiskers on the upper jaw.

The color of the bird depends on the living conditions. Therefore, the colors can be very diverse. The classic color of a weasel is believed to consist of dark brown or black-gray shades that lighten with age.

The stingray has two dorsal fins. As a rule, the first of them is short, and the second is significantly longer than the first. The anal fin together with the dorsal fin approaches the caudal fin, but does not form a single unit with it. The pectoral fins are rounded in shape. Pelvic fins are located in the throat area, close to the pectoral fins. The pelvic fin forms a second ray that resembles a characteristic long thread consisting of sensory cells. The tail fin has a rounded shape.

The body of the sea urchin is covered with relatively small scales, which are located almost on the entire surface of the body, including the head area, all the way to the gills. The lateral line extends almost to the tail.

The way of life of the squirrel

The uniqueness of this fish lies in the fact that the walleye is most active in cold water, and spawning takes place when there are December and January frosts outside. Therefore, we can safely say that the peak of the activity of wagtails occurs in winter. This predator lives at the bottom of the reservoir and hunts only in the dark.

The maximum activity of the bream occurs when the water temperature does not exceed +12 degrees. When the water heats up to a higher temperature, the weed becomes inactive.

Although the wrasse is not a gregarious fish, it is easy to find a group of wrasse consisting of several dozen individuals. As a rule, this is characteristic of smaller individuals, and trophy specimens live away from others. When the heat comes, wagtails start looking for shelter, hiding in holes or between stones.

The dragonfly chooses its habitats where there are cold springs. In addition, this fish does not tolerate light, so its activity is significantly lower even when the moon is shining.

Where does the weasel live?

Sturgeons are distinguished by the fact that they live mainly in rivers that flow into the Arctic Ocean. Although if we take British Isles, so the remains of wagtails are found here everywhere, but under natural conditions wagtails no longer live here. The situation is similar in other countries, such as Belgium and Germany, although in the latter wrasse are still found in the waters of the Elbe, Danube, Oder and Rhine rivers. In the UK and Germany, intensive efforts are underway to restore the warbler population.

In the water bodies of Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Finland, walleyes are often found in rivers, although their population is minimal in Finland. This is due to many factors, the main one being environmental pollution. In addition, water acidification processes are taking place and alien species dominate, which displace native species.

What does a weasel eat?

The wrasse's diet consists of objects of animal origin, which the wretch finds on the bottom. Young individuals up to 2 years of age feed on a variety of insects, small crustaceans and worms, including fish roe of various species. After 2 years, their diet already includes frogs, larvae and fish.

In search of food, weevils swim into the seeds. As the water temperature drops, the appetite of these predators increases. The peak of their activity is in winter, when other fish species, on the contrary, begin to lead a sluggish lifestyle, so they often fall into the mouth of this predator.

How warblers reproduce

The raccoon becomes sexually mature in 2-3 years of life. Each female is accompanied by at least 2 males. Lake wader species grow and develop slightly faster than riverine species. Riverine species spawn at a body length of at least 30 cm. After hatching, the fry grow and develop quite quickly and reach a length of 10 cm by mid-summer.

The largest individuals are the first to spawn, in groups of several dozen. Medium-sized individuals spawn after them. The last to spawn are the youngest and those spawning for the first time. At the same time, the young gather in many sails. For spawning, choose tank locations with a hard bottom in shallow water.

Each adult female can lay up to half a million eggs, which are distinguished by their yellowish color and very small size. The maximum size of the roe is about 1 mm. Despite laying a large number of eggs, their survival rate is very low, so the population of wagtails is not very high.

Vole population

Today, wagtails are on the verge of extinction in many countries, and in some countries they have completely disappeared and only their remains are found. The overall population of voles is also declining. In some countries, serious measures are being taken to restore the warbler as a species. Although it is not so easy to do. The thing is that water resources are very polluted, so only complex measures are needed, which requires high costs. A more or less stable population of waders is observed in Swiss rivers and lakes.
