Choosing equipment for trout is not an easy task. To start catching trout you need to have the right equipment specifically for trout. Because they usually are found in small streams and access to them is not easy. In this article I will describe what I would pay attention to in the first row if I were to start fishing for trout.
Waders
First of all, I would take care of comfortable waders. This fishing method forces you to cover a lot of kilometers, overcoming various obstacles, starting from tunnels dug by beavers to thickets, through which you will remember your entire rich vocabulary. After all these tests, the least thing you want to think about is the blisters on your feet. I won't mention individual manufacturers of waders, but you need to make sure that they have a belt around the waist and comfortable buckle straps so that you don't have to fasten them again every time you bend over or climb over a fallen tree.
Equipment for trout: Spinning
Since the catching conditions are not the easiest, it is better to choose a shorter one for spinning. Users' Favorite Blue Bird 1-7 g 1.92m. I am completely satisfied. And I would choose spinning from the same series.
Reel
I would choose a more durable reel because you often have to soak it in water, put it on the ground, lean against a tree and the like.
I used a Mitchell Mag Premier 2000 reel for two seasons. It worked great, no extraneous noises. The line was laid perfectly. BUT. There was a big wind on the bow. This season I chose a Chinese reel. Seaknight Rapid 2000H. The first impression is not bad and further comments will follow after fishing.
The line
I would choose a pint out of the box. The first season I used mono line. In winter, it does not freeze at minus, it absorbs shock perfectly. But very quickly it becomes a "garmoškė" and a part of the line needs to be cut and everything tied up. In summer, this may not cause a big problem, but in winter it does not bring much joy. So in the second season I chose braided line and flor leash.
Equipment for trout - Baits
This topic can probably be talked about forever. I will try not to expand too much and give a small list that will definitely be enough for a beginner.
- Lucky John Basara 56SP
- Lucky John Basara 70SP
- Rapala x-rap 40sp
- CountBass 57mm
- CountBass 55mm
- Micro turner
By choosing several colors each wobbler will surely have enough to choose from. Then, as you go along, you'll adjust your trout gear and bait box to your liking as you look at the rivers you visit.
In addition, I would suggest changing treble hooks for wobblers forks alone. Illegal trout are often caught and it is difficult for them to survive after a treble hook. This will increase their chances of survival and give them a chance to grow bigger and make other fishermen happy.
