Lake Stirniai is located in eastern Lithuania, about 9 km northeast of Praying, and its area reaches 8,718 km². The coastline is very winding, there are many peninsulas, promontories, bays. There are 7 islands in the lake: Bakosa 18.89 ha, Baniukai Island 14.16 ha, Blinda 1.12 ha, Kulinii Island 0.51 ha and 3 unnamed islands (0.3 ha, 0.1 ha and 0.04 ha) .
The average depth of Lake Stirniai ranges up to 6.5 meters, and the deepest part of the lake reaches 35 meters. The length of the coastline is about 43 km. The shores are high, up to 20-25 m, in some places marshy (Kraujeliai, Mindūnai, Pastirna, Paljūnė, Raisto marshes).
Spinning anglers appreciate this lake for its abundance of spawners, shoals, inlets, coves and island channels where bass and pike like to hang out. Almost the entire lake is full of them, but the northern and northeastern parts of the lake stand out in particular.
Judging by the amount of valuable fish, the lake has the most tench, followed by bream, and third place is shared by perch, pike and walleye.

Muddy side of the village
After passing this village, you can find a great peninsula where you can fish both from the shore and launch a boat. After passing the Kulinii village cemetery on the left side, you will find 3-4 great spots for fishing from the shore with feeder, bottom rods or floats. And before the cemetery, driving along the main road, you will see a place where you can launch a boat on the left side. There is a large shoal on the left side of the peninsula, it is difficult to fish from the shore, because once you start going deep, large underwater grasses grow. Driving past the cemetery, you will see the sign "Privati Valda" with a phone number. number. As much as I tried to find information or contact, I could not. As much as I had to fish and meet a local farmer who mows hay there, I never received any comments. I think that if you leave the fishing place behind you in an orderly manner and do not pollute anything, no one will drive you away from there.
Roe deer side of the village
There are some excellent bottom fishing spots on the country side of the deer. You should prepare for long shots. But the location is very attractive and convenient. Both in terms of access and accommodation.
There is also a boat launch. Concrete slip and deepened bank. At the boat launch, a sandy, slowly deepening shore with resort facilities. There is a toilet, gazebos, a well, and a place for tents.
