Method Feeder: Tips And Secrets

Method Feeder

Method feeder is available widely used many fishermen, however, have a misconception that the method feeder is only suitable for water bodies that are full of small fish. However, this is not entirely true. Yes, the Method feeder works well on such bodies of water, but it can also be successfully used on large and complex bodies of water.

What attracts me most in method feeder fishing is its reliability regardless of the nature of the bottom. Similar to using a PVA bag, the method feeder can be fished in grass, muddy bottom or on hard gravel. Whatever the conditions, you know the lure will always be surrounded by bait and ready for action. Also, unlike a PVA bag, you don't have to wait for the bag film to dissolve, and the method feeder is much easier to fill.

When it comes to editing, I use a simple and effective technique. First, I choose a line with a hook, they usually range from a size 8 to a 12 depending on the fishing conditions, the target fish and the body of water. The length of the leash is usually 10-15 cm. Near the hook, a few centimeters away, I install a small lead, since I use pop-up boilies, so that they do not protrude the entire length of the leash, but are close to the bottom. I install the feeder on the In-Line principle so that the fish does not feel resistance when baiting.

The Method Feeder technique does not require complex assemblies, so I recommend using the same, simple construction. The simpler the technique, the more effective it is.

Bait preparation

I use two favorite bait recipes. The first, very simple and commonly used, involves one main ingredient – Method Pellets granules. I soak them in water until the granules are soft and ready to use. I sometimes season them liquid supplements (Liquid smoke).

The second recipe with a simple, loose bait. I usually use bait Deepex, Marmax, Trapper manufacturers. I prepare it as for a regular feeder, with multiple irrigations. The only difference is that I add molasses and moisten it a little more to make it stick better. In addition, various supplements can be added to this mixture, such as corn, hemp seeds, or anything else that the fish likes. The most important thing is to try different options.

Every fishing trip I have both recipes ready. And to ensure better baiting, they are radically different. One is sweet and the other "stinky". Since I fish in wild lakes, it's hard to guess what the fish want this day.

Point feeding and accuracy

Accuracy is essential in both feeder and Method feeder fishing. You need to throw the bait in the same place to form a feeding point. If you have not caught the bait, before pulling it out, it is recommended to take a long pause so that the bait is completely dispersed from the feeder.

I often use additional tools to make a point. I have a separate Spomb fishing rod, with the help of which I deliver coarse bait to the point - Corn, pellet's, chopped boilies, etc. Next year (2025) I plan to buy a boat to make it easier, quieter and more accurate to deliver large bait to the point.

These simple but effective techniques will help both beginners and experienced anglers.
