Fall Pike Fishing. How to CATCH Your TROPHIES?

Lydeka

Fall pike fishing is gaining momentum right now. And for those looking to catch their trophy pike, this is a great time to do so. Why? The answer is very simple. As the autumnal weather begins to cool, margashones begin to actively feed, stocking up for the unpredictable winter. At this time of the year, pike are scattered throughout the body of water, and probably no one would be able to pinpoint their exact locations in advance. Pike are looking for comfortable conditions - suitable water temperature, sufficient amount of oxygen and, of course, comfortable hunting areas.

Autumn predators, like spinners, have a keen sense of the end of the season, and therefore, to our joy and their misfortune, are very voracious and less cautious than in summer. At this time of the year, there is a good chance of tackling the record pike of your dreams.

Although pike are considered sedentary fish, this does not mean that they sit in the same place all the time. Hunters are also attracted to various fish that migrate after autumn and are looking for constant water temperature. Most often, pike do not follow a school of fish, but occupy a hunting ground near their migration routes. In deep seliavian lakes, pike descend to a depth of 5-7 m and follow schools of seliav that are preparing to spawn.

In autumn, pike move deeper, but on warmer days they still hang around the banks. Especially after the first frost, when frogs start to retreat to the water. Dedicated pike anglers recommend fishing in small shallow lakes with rich aquatic vegetation in autumn.

Pike activity does not drop much at the end of autumn. They continue to feed intensively, you just need to know where and when. It is not so difficult to guess where predators dine - they feed where there is food. If the water in a small lake is saturated with oxygen, and its depth is more than 6-8 m, then at the end of November, toothfish visit the deepest parts of the water body. Medium and smaller pike are attracted near the roaches while the roaches are still there. As a rule, they stay in the svendar lane even until the first ice. In November, pike can be caught at first sight and in the most hopeless place, as they like to visit the most unexpected water areas sometimes.

Experienced fishermen advise to catch pike with an average size of 7-10 cm wobblers, imitating perch or roach. By the way, when catching in not very deep places, the head hook must be light enough, otherwise the bait will plow the bottom and collect aquatic vegetation that has not yet rotted, but has already begun to die.
